Hacienda Santa Rita

Description

Hacienda Santa Rita concentrates on sustainable cattle farming and the conservation of the native Andean forest and páramos. Past eruptions of Cotopaxi have shaped the lie of the land throughout this region and, to protect the resulting beauty and biological diversity, this area has been made into a Private Ecological Reserve.

Lava flows have been gradually eroded by water over the years, giving rise to waterfalls, still waters and rapids. In the midst of this arid, volcanic landscape, life thrives relentlessly in the form of lichens, mosses, bromeliads, orchids and native woods. The ideal spot for nature lovers and families.

Santa Rita, at an altitude of 3,200m, is a one and a half hour drive from Quito.
